Shaping the Future with Volunteering group

We believe volunteering can play a transformative role in creating the kind of society we all want to live in, helping address the biggest challenges that we face from Covid recovery to mental health to climate change. That’s why Rotary has come together with 17 other national charities, including Royal Voluntary Service, Scouts and The National Trust to build on the momentum created during the pandemic.

We are committed to working together and with others across charities, government, and the private sector to support all communities across the UK to be dynamic and welcoming places for volunteering.

Together, we will together on four action areas;

  1. Understanding – Promoting the power of volunteering
  2. Inclusion – Sharing a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
  3. Support – Learning more about how volunteers can be supported
  4. Partnerships – Working with other organisations of all shapes and sizes

National Partners

Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP)

This brings together local and national organisations to deliver a more coordinated response to emergencies. Rotary is a partner organisation together with The Red Cross, St John Ambulance, Salvation Army, FareShare and others.

We have Rotary representatives in the 5 National Volunteering Cells, which are a single points of contact for government and statutory agencies to engage volunteers for large scale national emergencies.

Warm Welcome Spaces

Rotary GB&I is delighted be the Volunteer Partner for Warm Welcome Spaces, having been involved since the launch in 2023.

Warm Welcome Spaces exists to turn poverty and isolation into warmth and connection through the power of local spaces made by and for the community.

Thousands of Warm Welcome Spaces exist across the country, with many opening their doors with extended services during the winter months from October to March. Spaces offer everyone a friendly place to keep warm, connect and make new friends.

Global Partners

Polio eradication

Rotary is a leading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. With help from our partners, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Gavi, the vaccine alliance we’ve made the world 99.9% polio-free.

Disaster Relief

Rotary and ShelterBox are international project partners in disaster relief. We collaborate to provide emergency shelter, tools, essential aid items and training so families can rebuild their lives. By working together, we support more communities in desperate need of shelter after disaster.
